Just in Time for the Holidays - NeOn Bus

Story Options

Fares starting at $1! Say what? NeOn Bus, a service of Adirondack Trailways and Greyhound Canada, now has stops at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport and Henrietta on its New York to Toronto route. That's good news for students this Christmas season.

With two NeOn round-trip schedules each day between New York and Toronto, stops are scheduled at Buffalo Niagara International Airport and Henrietta. The coaches are new and environmentally friendly with extra leg room, free Wi-Fi, comfortable seats, video entertainment and power outlets.

"Tickets can range from $1 to a maximum of $85 for the trip between Toronto and New York. I'm not sure about Buffalo to either place because we just started that today," said Abby Wambaugh, NeOn spokeswoman. Tickets are available in advance online at a low fare, or right at the bus doors for full price. And an online ticket guarantees a seat on the selected schedule.

“We are excited to continue to work with Greyhound Canada as we expand our new NeOn service to the Buffalo Airport and Henrietta markets,” said Eugene Berardi Jr., president and CEO, Adirondack Trailways. “NeOn provides a premium service at an affordable cost for customers looking to save money without compromising quality.”

Customers can board the street-side service in New York near Penn Station at 34th St. and Eighth Ave. Customers traveling from Buffalo Niagara International Airport can board at the bus lane on the east side of the terminal at the arrivals level. Customers traveling from Henrietta can board at the park and ride at Suburban Plaza, located at 2199 E. Henrietta Rd.

In the spirit of freely providing advertising space that this post evokes, Megabus has been giving away seats to NY & Toronto for a few weeks now. I got round trip tickets for 2 for a total of $0.50 - go to megabus.com and enter the promo code "Greenbus" -- there was an article about it in the Buffalo news a little over 2 weeks ago: http://www.buffalonews.com/businesstoday/localbusiness/story/499377.html

The $1 fare things are just teasers..obviously. One should take the train. It's probably the same amount of time and it keeps vehicles off the road. We need a great intercity train system so I choose to vote with my money.
