From Mark Gaughanis first of four stories previewing Bills training camp.

It doesn't take much to get Losman to work hard, and that's one reason why the 24-year-old from Venice, Calif., is a man the Buffalo community just might learn to love.

Losman comes from as hard-working and blue-collar a background as any average Buffalonian from the First Ward, Black Rock or the West Side. Buffalo is known as The City of No Illusions. Losman grew up with none. He came from a single-parent home. In high school he was one of eight people living in a two-bedroom apartment. Losman worked part-time jobs all through his teen years. His mixed-race background often caused him to feel like an outsider in his multicultural community. He's a product of the Los Angeles public school system, not a privileged suburban scene. He chose the road less traveled in college by going to a non-football factory, Tulane, instead of being the big man on campus in the comfort of his hometown at UCLA.

And he lives downtown. Iim already a fan.
