Ink at the Hardware

If you've ever wondered what tattoo artists do to kill the off work hours, artwise, this show should be an eye-opener.
According to Hardware curator, Abagail, Marie Smith, "This show is outside of human body art, though that is what some artists stuck with because it's in their comfort zone. We'll be displaying works in oil and acrylics that show a different side of their artwork. It's not all related to tattooing."
A champion of local artists, Smith features successful local artists every month, changing it to "reflect the spirit of the city".
"I hope to bring in more progressive work," Smith said. "I have committed myself to showing artists that are currently working in our community to produce innovative and compelling statements."

The Theatre of Youth’s (TOY) 37th Season is starting out with an adaptation from a book that nearly everyone read as a child: The Boxcar Children. It will chronicle the adventures of the four clever runaway siblings as they live in an abandoned boxcar.
This play will be perfect to bring your children to. The familiar story will come alive on stage, creati …
Anybody looking for a relaxing night out needs look no further than UB's Allen Hall. WBFO's free weekly concert series continues tonight with a performance by Ellen West and Tracy Morrow and the Magi Chippie.
Ellen West is also known as Michele Buono, singer and guitarist for The Missing Planes, a more upbeat indie band. Buono had a few songs she wrote that didn't quite fit the tone of the band and she plays them out under the moniker “Ellen West,” a reference to a song by …

It's too bad Hand of Doom isn't on the bill. Those guys are always painting. I own a few paintings from Josh Schlageter (not tattoo related) that are outstanding.
