I Love New York Short Film Competition

“There is boundless creativity within New York State,” said Dan Gundersen, Upstate Chairman of Economic Development. “We’re proud to be hosting a contest that showcases the innovation and imagination that New York State inspires.”
This competition is open to any person 14 years and above. Submissions will be accepted between June 1 and July 15, 2008 via the competition website at www.metacafe.com/iloveny. All film must be shot in a “New York Minute” (:60 seconds) and filmed in New York State.
A panel of entertainment industry celebrities with a strong New York connection will judge the submissions, including Academy Award winner Philip Seymour Hoffman, MTV Movie Award winning filmmaker Doug Liman, and Emmy winner Tina Fey, whose hit show 30 Rock is both set and filmed in New York. Fey taped an instruction video for the filmmakers about what she loves about New York.
In addition to winning various prizes, the grand prize-winner’s film will be screened on primetime television during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, at the New York film festival, on jetBlue Airways seatback televisions and on the Independent Film Channel during the Fall of 2008. Prizes and awards will also be given out in numerous other categories, including a Student Filmmaker Award and Viewers’ Choice Winner.
“We’re thrilled to have so many significant players in the film industry on board for this contest,” according to Pat Kaufman, Executive Director of the New York State Governor’s Office for Motion Picture and Television Development (MPTD). “Their participation reinforces the extent of this opportunity for aspiring filmmakers and will aggregate entries from all walks of life.”

Next Friday, September 12th from 7 PM until 10 PM there will be an Opening Reception for the artist. The exhibit consists of Daniels’ photography which centers on creating portrai …

They are presenting a memorial exhibit entitled “Ode to …

As for his music, here is an excerpt from Radford's take on Gallo: This is not experimental music made for the sake of experimentation. As Gallo explains, improvisation is …
