Last year The Washington Post began an annual contest calling for dioramas which use Peeps' marshmallow(ish) bunnies and chicks to depict scenes from books, movies, events and songs. They're good for a laugh and may inspire you to assemble one of your own. Here is a link to a slideshow of over 30 of 2008's entries. The lead photo for this post is of a 2007 finalist entitled "Peeping Peeps" by Anne Lukas and Meg Paganelli. To view the rest of the 2007 selections, click here. Of the 2007 entries, my personal favorite is a toss up as I'm partial to the John Cusack Peep (sporting ghetto blaster and trench coat) and "Reservoir Peeps".

They're all really clever- CBS Sunday Morning just had a segment on Peeps and mentioned this contest. Slide #8, #17 and #18 get my vote.

Damn. It's probably too late to enter my tableau of Peeps doing Vic Morrow's last scene in the "Twilight Zone" shoot.

This subject matter is a glaring example of creative energy wasted. The talent that produced these productions could have been better utilized making some thing beneficial or useful. If this is a new form of creative expression, I prefer to be less sophisticated.

The medium used seems to be a regression to infancy, possibly induced by drugs or alcohol, not an adult pursuit of defining life thru art. The cute aspect which may be of interest to children, is lost in the subject matter ( toilets scenes & social depictions), my opinion this requires a pass.

Mike - your a consummate and devoted cheerleader Christa's fortunate to have such a relationship.

Here's a link to the Peep-centric piece West Coast Perspective mentioned. It ran on CBS Sunday Morning yesterday:
