GoodBeer Club Meets Tonight
You think the Brewfest has beer? You might want to head out to Mister Goodbar and see what local beer is all about. Tonight, August 13th, at 7:30 PM will be a meeting of the GoodBeer Club at Mister Goodbar at 1110 Elmwood Avenue. Walk-ins are welcome but space is very limited. Pre-sale tickets were sold, and they’re warning ticket buyers to be there before 8 PM or call if they’re going to be later, otherwise a walk-in will fill their spot. So if you want to go and didn’t buy a ticket, plan on being there early.
The beer is being provided by Dogfish Head. Dogfish Head says it makes “off-centered ales for off-centered people,” and looking at the list of featured brews and recipes for tonight, they aren’t kidding. The recipes for tonight are Cajun corn bisque, red beans and rice with Andouille sausage, and apple pie. Those sound delicious, but not everyone’s a cook, so if you’re going for just the beer, here’s the list:

Dogfish Head is from Delaware with the nearest distributors being in Liverpool, NY and Toronto, Ontario. Ummm... every one of those beers is readily available in the area at Premier Gourmet, Consumer's Beverages, and the Village Beer Merchant.
I'll be going, but I was very disappointed in this selection. Generally they bring in some beers that are not really available in this area, but all of those are, and I've had all of them as well. They're very good beers overall, but nothing hard to come by.
