You have just a week left to get your pre-sale tickets for Party for the Parks, after that the price goes up and it really isn’t an event to skip out on. This is the sixth annual fundraiser held by the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy. The Conservancy is now in its 30th year and they are unveiling the park’s Plan for the 21st Century, a blueprint for the future of the Olmsted System and the City of Buffalo.
This year’s fundraiser will take place at the newly renovated Marcy Casino in Delaware Park, which overlooks the 350-acre Olmsted-designed Delaware Park, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Hoyt Lake, and the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society Museum. You have to be 21 years old or older to attend Party for the Parks, which is held to raise awareness about the mission of the Conservancy to enhance, restore, and maintain the Olmsted Park System and to raise funds for the Conservancy through a fun and entertaining evening.
The event has a Caribbean theme this year and features live music from party regulars The Ifs as well as The Surf Daddys. The bands will perform on a floating stage placed over Hoyt Lake. There will also be a basket and silent auction, which includes over 100 items such as hotel stays, gift certificates, clothing, jewelry, and sports memorabilia. Party for the Parks will also have a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres provided by some of Buffalo’s best restaurants and caterers.
For general admission, tickets are $20, but after August 31, they go up to $25. If you’re looking for the VIP treatment, it’s $75. Party for the Parks takes place on September 5th from 6:30 PM until 11 PM. For more information and tickets, visit the Conservancy’s website. You can also order your tickets by calling 838-1249 ext 30.

They had been building and modifying their boats throughout the week, trying a few different design and construction plans. Now they were ready to race them across a tub of water, using a fan to power them across. After deal …

He found himself happy with his Allentown diggs, but began eying another part of the city for the Elmwood restaurant. In the end, Oded decided that he wanted to try his hand in the University District (3476 Main Street). I guess there was …
