First Look: 200 Delaware Avenue’s Shiny Skin
The metamorphosis of the former Dulski federal building continues as the first pieces of glass façade have gone up on the north side of the structure. The $63 million conversion of the 1970-era clunker into a mix of office, hotel and residential space is expected to be complete early next year. The ‘200 Delaware Avenue’ project is being undertaken by UniQuest, a joint venture consisting of Uniland Development Company and Acquest Development.
The revamped property will include a 150-room Embassy Suites hotel on the first seven floors, 128,000 sq.ft. of office space on floors 8 through 12, and 37 luxury residential units anticipated to be priced from $350,000 on the top three floors. Each use will have separate entrances and elevators, but will share many of the Embassy Suites features and services. Law firm Damon & Morey has signed on for two floors of office space.
The development team will be showing off their plans for the building during the Downtown Housing Tour on June 28th from 1 to 5 pm. The event is free.

Christmas With Vocalis at Karpeles
Though they only began in 2002, the 18-person Vocalis Chamber Choir have already made a name for themselves. So Long Elmwood, Hello University District

Seems to be alot of doors on the first floor. Are they for possible Retail spaces? I know about the possible restaurant, but what are these doors for?

As he stated in the article, the hotel, condo, and office space will have separate entrances, as well as the restaurant. And I assume safety regulations require emergency exits as well.

Love the way the surrounding older buildings are reflected on the surface. This is the way to go with new and adaptive projects.

I agree with MRogers - in My Fair City, a downtown building was reskinned with a glass pattern that appears similar to this, and the huge glazed surface reflects the surrounding architecture in a way that's quite mesmerizing and photogenic.

We should only have one tall building downtown. That way the view of it will not be blocked no matter what direction you are coming from.

Sally I really really hope you are joking. :) sunny-Im pretty sure the big gray concrete facade blocked that view all along. I wasnt excited about this project when it was announced but it is going to look much better than before. I am gonna go ahead and admit I was wrong before.

I just hope the effect of that glass isn't the same as the "Blue Whale" at the Pacific Design Center in L.A. It looks cool in photos, but when you drive by it, it just seems wrong.

The mirrow glass look is out, Clear glass is the "In" thing now, I hope the upper level of this is "clear" so we can say it really is "Modern"
