Appendix Out leader, Drag City artist & Will Oldham protege Alasdair Roberts performing "vocals and acoustic guitar in the classicist British Folk vein that all the kids are vibing on these days," along with the fantastic MV and EE Medicine Show, whose appearance at this summer's psych-folk fest was in many minds the weekend's highlight. Effortlessly wedding homespun folksiness with experimental aspirations, the group's set--which blended instrumental ragas, free-folk meditations and straight Americana--perfectly encapsulated the current state of New Weird America. Tracy Morrow's windswept existential folk rounds out the bill.
