Also known as Trattoria Aroma. Even though the snow kept most people away from the new restaurant that just opened in the former Just Pasta location, we just couldn't resist the warm looking atmosphere. The warm glow of the up-lit columns, blended in with the soft shades of yellow wall frescoes, makes Trattoria Aroma a magnificent neighborhood nook. The 100% Italian wine list is pretty hot, and the menu is the exact same 'tested and true' menu from owner Dave Consentino's Williamsville location. He and business partner Jerry Clementi have done with their new restaurant what Buffalo ‘foodies’ have been waiting for... good food, relaxed atmosphere, and killer service.

basilwfwf.jpg Tonight we went for the pizza. Dave highly suggested the quattro stagioni (sounded like a Ferrari), AKA the Four Seasons. The gourmet 'za' was split into quarters, and each section came loaded with 1) mushrooms 2) artichokes 3) prosciutto 4) black olives. Served with a sharp Laguiole knife, we were set to indulge in four toppings that each represented a different season of the year.

I must admit that I have never been to the original Trattoria Aroma, though I am a big fan of Dave's other operation, Caffe Aroma on Elmwood Avenue. Knowing that his culinary reputation precedes him, we were very happy with the presentation... and the pizza (especially the prosciutto) was just what we needed. The rest of the menu is chock full of wonderful choices and of course there is a stellar choice of pastas, which brings the location back to its roots of being a hearty food staple in a diversifying Buffalo food landscape.

Trattoria Aroma is located at 307 Bryant Street. The phone is 716-881-7592.

I didn't realize that they opened, I live down the street and can't wait to try this place out. I was dissapointed when Just Pasta went downhill then closed, hopefully this will do well in that area of Elmwood/Ashland.

We ate at Trattoria Aroma last Saturday and loved it! The menu is broad & interesting, and wine list extensive (and reasonable), the food excellent and the service surprisingly good for a new restaurant. I couldn't recommend Aroma more highly. The atmosphere is intimate & delightful - stylishly keep some of the best elements of the old Just Pasta (#1) while adding many very attractive enhancements of their own. All in all it's a delightful place for dinner, and a welcome addition to the Elmwood dining scene. Dave (the owner) is on hand, circulating among the patrons, meking sure all is well, but he's not at all obtrusive, just caring. Trattoria Aroma now is my new favorite place for dinner.

I haven't been, but have we avoided the big screen TV in the bar area? Not many places in Buffalo offer nicer dining without the TV involvement. I love to have the interaction of an after dinner drink without the TV disruption. We will check it out. VERY EXCITED.

After a beautiful BPO concert this afternoon we had dinner at Tarttoria Aroma on Bryant Street. As you might guess the place is so pretty and the service is friendly and welcoming. The wine list is very Italian with rather respectable super tuscans at a fair price, quite a nice feature. And the food was just prefect. To start a thin crust pizza from the wood burning brick oven, there are several to choose from, was crisp and light and delicious. As for entrees the pasta with beef tenderloin, scallops, fire roasted tomatos and mushrooms was wonderful. I was in a veal mood for the past two weeks so I ordered the veal with wild mushrooms and truffle oil, and it was sublime. The bread is made in house, and is soft and warm inside, and light and crisp outside. After dinner a nice glass of port and a shared dessert was the perfect meal. We can not wait to go again, and will tell all our friends. This place is here to stay!
