Collectors Gallery Fall Schedule

As the gallery within the Gallery, the Collectors Gallery at the Albright-Knox provides patrons with artwork to view that can be rented or bought for their home or office. The original works the gallery presents comes in lot of different forms, including but not limited to: sculptures, photographs, paintings, and prints. They recently announced their fall schedule of upcoming exhibitions through December.
Starting off their fall season is Mark Freeland, who died last year at age 50. There will be a special reception on Friday, September 12th from 5:30 PM until 7 PM at the Collectors Gallery for the artist, but his work is already available to view. It will remain up until September 28th when it will be replaced by Jozef Bajus and his “The Combing Wave.”
Bajus' exhibit opens October 3rd with a reception open to the public at 5 PM. Bajus is currently the head of the Fiber Program at Buffalo State College. He was born and worked for many years and Czechoslovakia and his work has been exhibited all over the world. You’ll be able to see his work up until November 2nd. Running congruently towards the end of Bajus’ exhibit will be the New York Collection.
In Clifton Hall on October 30th, the New York Collection will be previewed from 5 until 7:15 PM. It will stay in Clifton Hall for October 31st from 11 AM until 8 PM and on November 1st and 2nd from Noon till 5 PM. The exhibit has almost 100 new works. It features new and nationally recognized artists and is gathered together from around 25 different galleries in NYC. After Bajus’ exhibit has ended, it will move to the Collectors Gallery on November 7th and be viewable till after the first of the year.
The Collectors Gallery is open Wednesday and Thursday from 12 until 4 PM, Friday from 12 until 8 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 1 until 4 PM. You can learn more about the gallery at their website.

Though it may only be the fifth time since 1992 that the Albright-Knox Art Galley has increased its admission rate, the higher fee speaks to the changing face of our society and economy. To keep the gallery in good financial health, it is necessary to increase the price of a regular adult admission ticket from $10 up to $12. The new price will go into effect on January 1st 2009.
