BUFFALO's Crowley Webb

Buffalo's own Crowley Webb and Associates brought home Best of Show and two Gold International Awards of Excellence (IN-AWE Awards) from the Healthcare Communication & Marketing Association's annual conference, held in Dallas earlier this month.
Crowley Webb won Best of Show and a Gold award for their business-to-business marketing campaign Have Patients! that they created for Praxis Communications. Praxis Communications is a patient recruitment firm for medical research studies in Brentwood, Tennessee.
"The agency earned a second Gold award for one of the campaign’s individual direct mail pieces, which was a six-foot ficus tree with 'patients' hanging from it's branches that was sent to 100 different key people," according to Tricia Barrett, vice president and managing supervisor.

“The partnership Crowley Webb has with Praxis allows both sides to achieve creative excellence,” said Barrett. The Have Patients! campaign featured a catalog with patients such as, Asthma Amy and Insomnia Ivan. The catalog was used to drive home the point that getting patients for research studies isn't as easy as choosing from a catalog and that's where Praxis comes in.
"The Have Patients! campaign gave Praxis an opportunity to have an entry point, while the campaign gave Crowley Webb a chance to enhance their profile as a competitive national and international player," said Barrett. "Praxis is built around creativity, which is a perfect match for Crowley Webb, as they thought out of the box and came up with unordinary ideas for this campaign such as another individual direct mail piece, which was a life-size Insomnia Ivan," Barrett said.

The IN-AWE Awards are one of the most prestigious recognitions of excellence in the healthcare marketing and advertising industry with emphasis on strategy, performance and visual creative appeal. Crowley Webb emerged as the leader against 900 entries in 65 categories representing Canada, United Kingdom and most major U.S. cities.
David Buck, president of Crowley Webb, further commented, “This recognition is especially gratifying because it recognizes strategy, creativity and results--and that’s what our business is all about.” Indeed that is what it's all about as Crowley Webb and Associates continues to grow as one of Western New York’s most successful advertising and marketing communications agencies.

It’s really a shame if you missed the reading series “Poetry at the Tea House” that took place at Tru-Teas! during this past year. Luckily, Trudy Stern didn’t want anyone to miss out and teamed up with Michael Morgulis to produce an incredibly fine, unbound book entitled “Tea Leaves” to commemorate the readings and spread the work of the local poets who partook in the program.
In honor of the publication of this special edition portfolio, Morgulis and Stern are hostin …
I think that I would like to start off this post by commending the three Common Council members who were bold enough to ask for today's bizarre Waterfront Village decision to be tabled. David Franczyk, Mickey Kearns and Mike LoCurto all stuck to their guns when it came to holding off on making any hasty (and potentially tragic) decisions regarding our waterfront. Unfortunately, their headstrong stance was outweighed by the rest of the BURA committee, and the rumors are flying as t …
A development team has been selected for a vacant commercial site in Waterfront Village. Finally. The Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency this morning named Specialty Restaurants Incorporation as preferred developer for the prime 1.4 acre parcel at 10-15 LaRiviere Drive. The owner of the adjacent Shanghai Red’s restaurant is proposing an uninspired, four-story, 100 room Wingate Inn.

A local firm has won an International Award for Excellence beating out 900 other entries. That seems to fit the BRO mission to me. Great Job Crowley Webb!
