Wrightnowinbuffalo.com highlights cityis amazing art and architecture

The Buffalo Niagara Convention & Visitors Bureau has re-launched its gobuffaloniagara.com Web site under the new domain name of wrightnowinbuffalo.com. The reconfigured site is meant to draw attention to Buffalois incredible wealth of architecture, art and heritage attractions by making them readily accessible to online audiences in an attractive, authoritative and compelling manner. The site is meant to complement the CVBis more comprehensive overview of Buffalo Niagara found at visitbuffaloniagara.com.

Wrightnowinbuffalo.com features an in-depth look at Frank Lloyd Wrightis Buffalo, including a video preview of the upcoming WNED-TV production of the same name, as well as a comprehensive overview of Buffalois art attractions. Celebrity testimonials from such renowned Buffalonians as Tim Russert, A.R. Gurney, Robby Takak, Lauren Belfer and Ruben Santiago-Hudson are featured, along with a collection of insideris tips about Buffalo called Locals Talk. Ed Cardoni of Hallwalls, Donna Fernandes of the Buffalo Zoo and Cynthia Van Ness of the Preservation Coalition, among others, share their insights on whatis best about Buffalo.

iGiven the investment the community is making in cultural and heritage tourism n particularly the architecture sector n we felt it was absolutely essential that we create a site devoted to this burgeoning area of the tourism industry,i said CVB President Richard Geiger. iWith the Martin House re-constructions nearing completion, Buffalo needs to make itself known as a city of great architecture. This Web site is a very significant step in accomplishing that goal.i

The site also features electronic postcards of six area landmarks designed by local artist Mike Gelen, as well as an electronic invitation to Buffalo Old Home Week; a iWin A Trip to Buffaloi contest that will bring winners to Buffalo twice a year; and a subscription form for the CVB newsletter, Buffalo Spotlight.

The new site was designed by CVB Creative Services Manager, Matt Steinberg. Programming was provided by Joe Murphy of Buffalois Ingenious.org. Editorial content was supplied, in part, by local writers Rik Whitaker and Elizabeth Licata.

iBuffalo is re-branding and re-introducing itself to the world as a city of great buildings and impressive cultural attractions,i said Ted Pietrzak, CVB Cultural Tourism Committee Chair. iItis essential that potential visitors are greeted online by an attractive and informative site. Wrightnowinbuffalo.com is a site that any city would be proud of.i

The Buffalo Niagara Convention & Visitors Bureau, as the marketing leader of the Buffalo Niagara hospitality industry, promotes our region worldwide as a convention, tourism, leisure and business destination for the economic benefit of the community.

    wrightnowinbuffalo.com looks great.

Hopefully, visitbuffaloniagara.com will also get a face lift! It looks kinda tired & '90's. We need a hipper & more up to date presence on the internet.

Shopitall: Couldn't agree more. The CVB was days away from engaging a local web developer to assist us with a re-design of visitbuffaloniagara.com when our bed tax funding was misappropriated by the County during the budget crisis of February 2005. As I'm sure you know, this resulted in ten full-time staff members being let go and a number of major marketing initiatives being cancelled, including the re-design of visitbuffaloniagara.com. Until our funding is restored this desperately needed upgrade to our Web presence will remain on hold. In the meantime, we are extremely pleased that we were able to find the means to launch wrightnowinbuffalo.com -- a low cost, high impact specialty site that shows Buffalo's architecture and art off to tremendous advantage.

Carl is right, Why is the Visitor Center Closed on Weekends? Isn't that the time most people travel? Please reveal Ed.
