Historic Buffalo Maps In Style at Clutch

Story Options

While scoping out some merchandise at Clutch on Elmwood, a member of BRO stumbled across this historic Buffalo map clutch (purse). After seeing Buffalo map images on other items such as ties, the clutch was a new one to us. I called Clutch’s owner, Sue Marfino to ask her how she came about finding such an item. “The company uses reproductions of maps to design their products. This is an envelope-sized clutch. There are two different maps that are used and other bags that we carry are small messenger bags and a larger purse. The prices range from 40-60 dollars. The maps are screened onto a black fabric bag. The bags have been so popular that we’ve reordered a few times. The people that have purchased the bags are so into Buffalo and get really excited when making the purchase.â€

As a matter of fact, the sales have been so good that Sue Marfino, owner of Clutch, is in the process of commissioning more Buffalo product designs. She is currently waiting for a new shipment to come in and wanted to pass along that there are only a couple in stock at the moment. It won’t be long until we will be announcing another nostalgic bag that people will really go crazy for. Sue is currently looking for cool Buffalo photos to put on more bags. And since the minimum number of bags is only four, we are sure to see a whole series of designs coming out in 2008.

    Balth,

Where did you find a copy of the map? Did you find it at Clutch? Or order it online?

I got it at Poster Art on Elmwood and had it framed there also. It was like $180.00, but it turned out great. Its maybe 48"x36".
