Buffalo Kickball... what else?

So what are you gonna do now that the warm weather is here? Maybe join a sport league? Did you know that Steve from Krudmart (in Allentown) is looking to field a bunch of kickball in order to start a Buffalo kickball league. He's looking for co-ed teams... from Steve:

"We want at least 6, hopefully 10 or 12. Teams must consist of at least 10 members, at least 4 of which must be female. This is a co-ed league and you can't send a field full of bros out there."

Steve has already started a MySpace page and a Facebook page dedicated to the effort, so if you are a member of either of those sites, be sure to conduct a search for more info. We'll keep you posted on the 'where' and 'when' once he has found enough teams. For more info, or to tell Steve that you're interested in fielding a team, just send an email here. Or check out the new forum dedicated to the league.

Also, if you are aware of any other city sport leagues that exist and are looking for members, please leave a comment. We should have a post together shortly on an Ultimate Frisbee league... how 'bout some info on volleyball, tennis, softball, etc.?

And don't forget to join the Buffalo Rising Facebook group next time you're visiting.

There is at least one current co-ed kickball league in WNY. M/ILE hosts it (8 teams in the league this year) and I believe they host a variety of other recreational sport leagues as well.

Courtney - thanks for the info on M/ILE Sports - I've never heard of them. It looks like their kickball has already started at this point (stated May 19th). I would suggest checking out WAKA, World Adult Kickball Association. This organization runs a great program that in Washington, DC, and it looks like they're trying to start a league in Buffalo, http://www.kickball.com/ - "NY Wings Division games will be held every Tuesday night from 6:00 - 9:00 PM beginning June 24, 2008 at Front Park in Buffalo."
