barbecue.jpg Just got back from Buffalo Barbecue and Brew and am doing all I can to keep my eyelids open. I threw back a couple of beers at the bar while waiting for a take out order (for our design team). There's a bartender named Jim at this place who is super cool and filled me in on all of the recent happenings at the restaurant. "It's only been open for a few weeks, but we already have our regulars," he told me. "The kids from Buff State LOVE it here. They come to watch the Sabres games on the two flat screens while eating traditional barbecue and having a few beers. We also get a great crowd from the neighborhood. It's a relaxed atmosphere and the place looks really nice."

RoBear showed up after a while and the two of us went back to say hey to Ted, the master bbq chef of the joint. Ted (photo) was busy winding down the custom smoker and shouted out,"Hey, did you guys hear that we have WiFi now? That's right, beer, bbq, and WiFi... what else could you ask for?" The restaurant (formerly the Pierce Arrow) is decked out with old lumberjack saws and beautiful original refurbished cabinetry... it also seats 50. Since I ordered the food to go, I booked back to headquarters where everyone unanimously raved about the spicy mac and cheese. The brisket, pulled turkey and pulled pork sandwiches were all winners too. This is definitely a hang-out bar/restaurant. Pay 'em a visit on Elmwood, corner of Great Arrow.

I just went there to eat on Monday. I could hardly keep my eyes open either after finishing a whole plate of that goodness. The beef ribs are humongous.

Plan on going this week, place looks - and from what you folks are saying, SOUNDS - fantastic.

Queenseyes and others - where does one park? On the weekends or even for dinner I can walk it, but if I bring clients or drive with people from work for lunch, is there available parking ?

I checked out Buffalo Barbecue & Brew last week and found the food, atmosphere and staff to all be great. The beef ribs melted in my mouth. The REAL fresh cut fries were especially tasty. Finally, a great choice for BAR-B-Q in Buffalo.

William Zabka All-Stars, I parked across the street at the Pierce Arrow building. I don't think they want it advertised though. One thing I should warn you about is the music. The syrupy sounds that were playing last night was tough to swallow. They probably do this so the customer pays for the jukebox, but man it was torture. That is my only complaint. I was so tired that I blocked the music out of my mind until just now.

speaking of music ruining a good time... why is it that the only coffee shop attached to a record store plays probably the worst music one can imagine....I go to Spot every few days and the music they play is enough to make you get your order to go. Who working there likes Phil Collins, the Bangles, and Rick Astley?

I was here a few days ago with a friend who had been there once before. The host recognized him immediately and sat us at the same table he had occupied previously, identified by the host as "your table". I had the barbequed pulled pork sandwich which I preferred to fat Bob's (a matter of personal preference, I'm sure).

I went for lunch on Monday, and ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich Memphis Stye (I believe thats what it was called) with the BBQ Baked Beans, and it was awesome. I loaded it up with the extra Pork BBQ sauce on the table. Both of the guys that I went with really enjoyed their meals as well.

My only complaint was the parking situation - we had to park on the sidewalk on Groute.

I will definitely be going back to this place again and recommend everyone give it a try!

I think Ted stole a train engine to smoke his products, he looks like an engineer. The Northwest District could become Buffalo's BBQ District, a number of great places and more to come. Both Suzy Q's and BBQ and Brew are excellent. Rumor has it a challenge is being considered for both by a third or more parties, I believe it may have a publicity agenda. How fortunate for us who live close by, good food striving to be recognized and working hard to be so.

Checked it out last evening with friends. Jimmy, the Bartender, delivered great service--along with a splash of personality--as we ate at the bar (...something we just don't see enogh of these days!).

Gotta tell you it was great BBQ! Had the Memphis pulled pork sandwich. Delicious...sweet, spicy, smokey, and hot. Everyone enjoyed it--topped off with two very nice flatscreens to watch the Sabres come-from-behind win over the Bruins. We'll be back.

I must agree that the food is amazing. One of the best spots for BBQ in the city. Staff is super friendly. my friends were in there drinking last friday night and said one of the bartenders was flipping bottles and blew some fire. Im gonna have to check out the night life at this place if this is true

My girlfriend and I went there last night and unfortunately left unimpressed by the food. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the bartender and the server Jessica were cordial and attentive. We split the competition platter and it was served within five minutes, which leads me to believe we were served food that was sitting around, because everything was on the dry side. We should have sent it back. Not sure we'll go back and there are plenty of choices in Buffalo for food. Too bad.

I went there on Thursday, ribs were fantastic. Thought the bar was so good I went back on Saturday to watch the Sabres game. The bartender there was amazing. I find that BBQ is very subjective thing. I have been to the best in the area (One eyed jacks, Kentucky Greg's) and this ranks up there. The only difference is its here in Buffalo, and the Bar is better

Thank you to everyone that enjoyed the food . Unfortunately, Ted & I have left the restaurant due to personal reasons. We thoroughly enjoyed cooking and sharing our passion with everyone! As it is in the BBQ world, all recipes are secret and if we told you or left them in someone else's hand, well you know the rest of that saying! Hopefully in the near future the time will be right for us to dust off those recipes and cook for the public again! BBQ is truly our passion. Stop to see us at Oinktoberfest in Clarence this fall.

To the person that felt their food was dry - stop and see Pork Floyd BBQ @ Ointoberfest, we'll take care of you!

so my friend and i went to buff bbq the other night for the second time and the first since the old cook apparentally left...but let me say that has not effected their food at all!! i had the ribs which were awesome as they were before and my friend tried the fish fry (which i guess is new to the menu) and loved it. the beer selection isn't too bad either and everytime we're in there the staff is really friendly and attentive. this place is a keeper in the buffalo area!!
