Blue Mountain Blends

Mmmmm. Blue Mountain Coffee. You know how good this place is the second you walk through their door. The aroma of all the different types of beans is captivating. And did you know that they serve up a variety of these coffees to go? Yup, you can pick up the whole beans, or have Jim (photo) grind them for you. Plus you can grab a cup while you are waiting. All the dark roasts are amazing. Inside sources say that they are just as good (if not better) than Peet's. Now that's saying something. These guys also have a wide selection of hard-to-find magazines and papers. Fashion, business, architecture, arts, they really have it all. The store dog is named Rocky. Rocky's pretty old, but chimes in on conversations every ten minutes. The new store cat is hysterical. He bounces around the place (even off Rocky's head) like nobody's business. This morning a customer picked up the little rascal to say hi and the cat locked jaws on her nose. Blue Mountain is a very pleasant shop located kitty-corner to Le Metro at 509 Elmwood Avenue. These guys open early and are even open seven days a week.

He has been buying parking lots and buildings for several years in the north end of downtown.

You might recall Eli George's post titled, 'The Problem of Problem Delis'? If not, here's the background of the story. If you have been following this very troublesome West Village deli over the years, then you know that the neighbors have been crossing their fingers and holding their breath that someday the market would go on the market. Well, according to Community Activist, Marilyn Rodgers, that day has finally come. Her hope is that someone already has a plan of some sort for …
