Bills Improve to 5-1

Story Options

Although power outages at Ralph Wilson Stadium prevented some of the game from being televised, I did enjoy the parts of the game that ended up on my television set.

Buffalo won their fifth game of the season by beating the San Diego Chargers by a score of 23-14. It seems safe to say that Trent Edwards has fully recovered from the concussion he suffered two weeks ago. Edwards completed 25 of 30 passes for 261 yards. Lee Evans made an extraordinary one-handed touchdown catch in the second quarter to put the Bills ahead 10-7. They took a 13-7 lead into halftime.

The Chargers pulled ahead in the third quarter, but the Bills regained the lead after spectacular run-blocking led to a Marshawn Lynch touchdown. Late in the fourth quarter, linebacker Kawika Mitchell emerged as the defensive star of the game, first by intercepting Philip Rivers and later by causing Rivers to fumble. Mitchell single-handedly made sure the Chargers couldn’t stage a comeback.

All in all, it was an impressive win for the Bills. I only wish I had seen all of it. So, Bills fans, what are your thoughts after today’s victory?

You think someone at LIN TV or Time Warner sabotaged the electrical wires in an effort to stick it to the other guy? I wouldn't really put it past either of them at this point.

I tuned into the radio station that was broadcasting the game with coverage from their cell phones (!!!) during the power outtages. And I gotta say, those radio guys are excellent with the play-by-play calling.

Edwards looked sharp. No residual brain-fog there. Mitchell was phenomenal in all the right moments. Evans made catching the ball with his helmet in the corner of the end zone with someone on his tail while keeping both feet in look easy. Too easy. He's probably not human.

Great game. I'm pretty sure people will try and blame TWC or LIN TV for the power outage, oh wait................ too late.

Power or not, the Bills proved themselves! I recall a QB from Stanford about two decades ago, think his name was Elway!!!
