Bikers, Kick Start Your Engines

The American Legion Riders is one of the larger groups already slated to take part in the run. Other participants can register for the event by calling 878-2373 or by signing up at the Red Cross starting at 11 AM on June 29th. The cost of the ride is $20 for a single rider and $25 per couple. The proceeds go directly to the Red Cross and the run kicks off from the Red Cross headquarters at 786 Delaware Avenue at 1 PM.
From there, the motorcyclists will ride to the American Legion Post in East Aurora and end at the Buckin’ Buffalo at 294 Franklin Street. The after party will be held at the bar starting at 3 PM. If you don’t take part in the ride, the cover for the after party is $10 and it’s during the after party that the military vintage-themed custom motorcycle will be raffled. It was built by South Side Kustoms and painted by AIR FX Airbrushing. Tickets are $10 each or three for $25. You can purchase tickets early by calling the Red Cross at 878-2373 or stopping by their headquarters during regular business hours.
AIR FX Airbrushing did a fantastic job painting the hog and you can view more pictures on their MySpace. You can view specs on the bike as well as get more information about the ride here. The after party includes the raffling of the motorcycle, but also free food, live music, and free giveaways, so even if you don’t want the opportunity to win the motorcycle, you can still come out and whoop it up with a bunch of bikers in support of the Red Cross.

Stirrings borne of discontent with the local arts festivals became a vision, an idea of what could be.
Seeds of that idea were planted and began to take root in the minds of local artists as well as creative thinkers in the community, who had participated in and experienced other art festivals around the country. Seeing positive things happening in other areas, a vision soon formed to create a true, regional, gras …
On Labor Day, September 1st, the second annual “Run Into Buffalo” 5K road race will be held in the City of Buffalo. The race starts at Niagara Square in downtown Buffalo at 9 AM on Labor Day. In addition to the race itself, there’ll be a pre- …
As long as I can remember, the western corner of Elmwood and Anderson has been poorly maintained. That's too bad, because while the rest of the small businesses on the street fight to maintain a distinctive neighborhood image, the Verizon and National Grid buildings remain unkempt. The funny thing is that the potential for that corner is there. If you look closely at the Verizon building details, you will see that the materials and craftsmanship are quite impressive. Can you imagi …
Construction cranes could soon be dotting the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus under expansion plans presented to the Buffalo Planning Board this morning. Kaleida Health has teamed with Ciminelli Development on the ambitious plan which involves three new buildings and $200 million in new investment. If the University of Buffalo agrees to move portions of their medical school to one of the new campus buildings, total investment could exceed $300 million.
