A Full Moon Tonight
Carmelo Parlato is teaming up with Gabrielle Bouliane, Heather Russell, Babik, and other local artists to bring us the hottest multimedia event of the year. The name of the event is "A Full Moon" and it marries music, art, poetry, film, and fashion in a celebration of sex, love, and romance.
Begining at 8pm tonight, there will be an art show exhibiting sensual pieces by artists: Francisco Amaya, Heather Russell, Barbara Gian, and Micheal Geyser. They will be backed by the eclectic blends of DJ Friendly Stranger spinning Jazz. At 9pm the lights dim as we listen to the poetry of Gabrielle Bouliane, Jose Castillo, and Lisa Cooper. Coordinated with the poetry and contributing to the intimacy will be a black and white film. The creations of filmmakers Trey Loe and Joshua Strauss will be projected simultaneously with the poets. Next, at 10pm, will be a lingerie fashion scene produced by Heather Russell and premiering the spring line of Lotions and Potions. Dressed in the sexy new line, the models will be interacting with the live sounds of gypsy swing jazz performed by Babik. Following the fashion scene Babik will play on into the night. If you are someone who enjoys the visual and performing arts then there is no place you'd rather be tonight than at La Luna for this event. "After investing a lot of hard work, good energy, and a full moon in waxing, the only way to fully comprehend what we've created is to experience it", says Parlato. Who could disagree with a wonderful night of beautiful sights and seductive sounds? Carmelo's events usually have an indescribable uniqueness to them that seldom go unfelt. When I asked Carmelo why he choose La Luna on Chippewa St. as his venue he said ," it is extremely important for culture and the arts to be brought to the mainstream and not confined to certain parts of town but to exist consistently throughout the city as well as the suburbs."
