A Cart For All Seasons

http://archive.buffalorising.com/yum/archives/upload/2006/02/timmcmahon-thumb.jpg After visiting Buffalo's Auto Show this past weekend with my family, we decided to head on over to The Buffalo House to grab a bite to eat. On the way we ran into an old buddy of mine, Tim 'Timmy' McMahon, who looked like he was having a very successful day with his food vendor business. If you have ever grabbed a hotdog at a downtown Buffalo event, chances are that you have supported Timmy and his 15 year old 'chain' of hotdog carts.

Actually, Timmy has been in the business for the past 22 years, as he started working for another local vendor when he was still in high school. He continued on with the job during summer breaks when he was in college, and eventually bought the 'fleet' from another owner in order to run his own carts.

Timmy's carts can be found parked at locations such as the Liberty Building, the Gold Dome, and Cathedral Park, but his business really benefits from highly trafficked events such as the Auto Show.

The carts sell a few other items besides dogs. If you're in the mood for a Polish or Italian sausage, Timmy can hook you up as well. And if you're looking for a great dog... well his business supports Wardynski's, another fine local hometown hero. These carts have served thousands and thousands of Buffalonians over the years, and there's no sign of any letup considering that any Buffalonian worth his or her salt appreciates a finely cooked dog from Timmy and his crew!

I second that! I'm always looking for veggie dogs at carts around town, to no avail. Someone's got to be first- how about it??

I'm placing my order now: 2 jumbo beefs, 1 Dr. Radical...and whole lot of Texas Timmy sauce for good measure. See ya in a few weeks at the Shamrock Run!

Isn't the phrase "veggie dogs" a bit of an oxymoron, especially around these parts? A veggie hot dog cart would be in business for about three seconds! "Not dogs" suck. I'll take mine with extra lips and assholes please! Rock on Timmy!
