Rich's Red Brick Market

Rich Products currently uses the structure to showcase its frozen delights that line the walls and cases of their very manageable space. The market is open to the public, but I wonder how much of the public is really aware of the market. When I stopped in, a custo…

Buffalo's mild winter is over (we think) and umbrella season is back. If you grabbed your old brolly this morning only to find that it has seen better days, get yourself a bright new umbrella at Elmwood Village Fabrics.
EVF carries an array of Marimekko umbrellas ($35 and up) in fabulous colors and patterns. The two pictured here feature an easy automatic open/close button and sturdy handles made of stained hardwood. They offer full protection from the rain and compactly close up to just about a foot long.
Also, when you are transitioning into your spring wardrobe, if you discover items with missing or outdated buttons, stop by EVF for assistance. Today, I brought in a blazer that needed some fresh buttons.…

Oh boy, did we stumble upon something good last night... The Viking Lobster Company. Not only is it fun to say that you are heading to dinner there, this is the type of place that you always hoped was in Buffalo, but just never knew where to find it. Finding it is half the battle it seems, as the dinner joint is located off Amherst Street…

"We can't save everything!" This is the often heard mantra of those who believe (or would like you to believe) that architectural preservation efforts in Buffalo are responsible for inhibiting or stopping development in the city. Take a look at the image above. It is a post card from the early 1960's showing a very densely built downtown Buffalo from the …
