In a sign of flexibility and responsiveness, Savarino is heading back to the drawing boards. After hearing public concerns regarding his proposed 80-room Elmwood Village Hotel at Elmwood and Forest Avenues, the developer is revising his plans. The hotel is now expected to be reduced one floor to four floors and the project's design will be modified. Privacy, massing and bulk, proposed architecture, and streetscape/neighborhood compatibility issues were identified at a highly attended February 21st public meeting. It is not known how long it will take for new plans to be prepared. The developer had hoped to have the project reviewed by the Buffalo Planning Board on February 28th.

On Saturday, February 25, 8 p.m.-2 a.m., the Hotel Lenox will come alive as Squeaky Wheel presents its first annual Peepshow.

There will be 17 artist installations in the 8th floor hotel rooms, as well as film and video screenings in the downstairs banquet room. There will be live music in the downstairs lobby by David Kane, Van Tayloris Taylor Made Jazz, and the Paul Kozlowski Trio, as well as cool sounds from area DJs on the lower level.
