...the Hatch is anything but upscale, it's more of a snack shack than a restaurant - you order at the counter and eat at one of the weather-beaten picnic tables scattered around the building and along the marina. Choices include grilled hot dogs, hamburgers, as well as local favorites fried bologna and beef-on-weck.
It's hard to imagine a more idyllic setting. The patio overlooks Lake Erie and the view is postcard perfect (check out the latest front cover of Buffalo Rising Magazine). The Buffalo Lighthouse stands in the near distance as sailboats glide by... all while you're enjoying a great meal on Buffalo's waterfront.
To get to the Hatch, drive under the city's "wonderful" skyway and head toward the water.

Dear Buffalo Rising:
Your article on Seven Seas Sailing School's 35th Birthday in last week's Buffalo Rising Magazine was magical. You're here to project and promote Buffalo's secret BESTS, and you have certainly done us a favor that's immeasurable.
No sooner did your Buffalo Rising magazine hit the streets that our phones started ringing. You helped us celebrate a totally unexpected Buffalo International Weekend at Seven Seas.

Okay, so you might have seen our ad in the new issue of Buffalo Rising Magazine and wonder what is going on? Why is there a guy on a bike in the air over Potomac Avenue with Frosty the Snowman holding a sign that has the X-Games crossed out and X-Mas written below? The best way to describe it is that it is funny. Seriously, why would Frosty be out in August?
The whole Potomac Street jump came about as a whim and Frosty showed up at the last minute to make fun of the X-Games, but he quickly headed to colder climates after the shoot. The idea came about on a Friday afternoon because Colleen at Buffalo Rising was looking for our ad and we were out of ideas. We had to do something that people can relate to, something they see everyday and is easily u…
