Beer... Buffalo- What could possibly go wrong?

Of course, The Beer Guy has been drinking worthy beers, for you, but the writing part has been a bit slack. I am an idler and a scofflaw by nature, what can I say?

The new format will be to throw down one beer news and one beer review each month, so check your Sunday nights for these bimonthly posts. On the first Sunday of the month, I'll round out what I know about the B-lo beer scene (send tips to ecox@buffalorising.com) while the third Sunday will be dedicated to throwing at least a couple of beer selections your way- and here suggestions are also welcome. Remember: I try beers s…

Monday, 7:00 PM --FREE SPECIAL SNEAK PREVIEW! SKETCHES OF FRANK GEHRY. Directed by Sydney Pollack Rated PG-13, 1 hour 25 minutes. Frank Gehry loves to sketch; it is the beginning of his architectural process. And it is his love of the sketch that gave Pollack his first clues to the style of this documentary film. Gus Macker Meets Its Match

Gus Macker is an incredible 3-person (to a team) basketball tournament to watch. There are so many different age levels of players who compete against one another and every game is exciting in its own way. RoBear and I decided to head on over to watch a few of these games earlier this afternoon. The best part about Gus Macker is t…

Last night was the opening night for Shakespeare in Delaware Park. While the action of the play down on Shakespeare Hill was cut short by the rain, there was plenty of action on the pergola at the Rose Garden above.

It was enchanting to watch the Nickel City Fencers, clad in white jackets, parry between the white columns of the pergola against the rosy backdrop. The club was there to welcome the opening night of Shakespeare's 31st summer season. Usually, Nickel City Fencers can be found honing their skills at St. John's Grace Episcopal Church at Colonial Circle.
