Crittenden & Lazlo Tonight @ Hardware

crittpost.jpgIt's ok, you can admit it, the weather's got you a little thrown, you've just gone back to the first week of work after the holiday... You could use a little funk in your life. I've got just the thing. Eric Crittenden will be playing tonight with local jamband favorites Lazlo Hollyfield, in a sure-fire combination that's not to be missed. In fact the ONLY concern about this entire show is to get there early so you'll have a seat -- and try the Hardware's new menu while you're at it!

Having earned respect on the national touring scene by playing his sax with the likes of Bob Weir, Michael Franti and Karl Denson, Crittenden was brought up to the funk and feel-good soul sound of Motown. It was later on in his 20s that he discovered jazz and organic self-expression. Listening to and being influenced by Eddie Harris, Coltrane, Herbie Hancock and Pink Floyd to name a few, completely changed his life and he started on a path of feel-good genre mixing that is accessible to everyone.

"For me, in order to go forward you have to go back," says Eric. "I was raised with old school R&B and soul and my father played with James Brown for 13 years. This is who and what I am all about, however this is a new era and music needs evolution and I'm fortunate to be able to do my part." Crittenden not only plays his part, but channels the souls of a few others as well. Sure to get your hips moving and soul lifted.
