Father's Day - What Does a Dad Want?

Dad.jpg

Last month I posted a Mother's Day Tutorial - giving some (tongue-in-cheek) guidelines for a successful and enjoyable Mother's Day. Many women informed me that the post "saved their day". But there were a few men who harrumphed. (These are guys who are stellar dads all year long anyway and didn't need my silly advice.)

Since Father's Day is approaching this weekend (6/18), I thought I'd open up the comment field to dads so they can let women know what they want and need for their special day. Do dads want breakfast in bed? How do they really feel about ties as gifts? Do they want to be with their kids frolicking in Delaware Park - or on the couch in front of the tube? Do they want time to golf with friends or work on a home improvement project? So guys, chime in with your wishes and have a wonderful Father's Day on Sunday.

A card from the kids, that's all I need. They have enough bills of their own to pay without spending money on me.

Waffles for breakfast, but not in bed, and then a long bike ride with my family. Then grill something for supper.

Dad wants to sleep in

Dad wants some truly good booze - the kind he's too frugal to buy for himself . And he wants the garbage taken out, lights in unoccupied rooms turned off, the fridge door kept shut, and someone else to cut the grass. hehe

Dad would like to play golf with other Dads then come home and spend time with his family and have a nice dinner. But there will be a lot of dads playing golf that day so he would like to take a rain check and play the following sunday instead!

ps: I just returned from Premier, with some of that premo booze for MY Dad .... I figure one of us ought to get it. Maybe he'll share a bit, too...
