There is yet another new Sabres logo leaking out. The Sabres organization has not acknowledged this version as the new official team logo, so this could be a draft. And let’s hope that’s all it is, because this jersey is, in a word, ugly.
It’s a dreadful attempt to marry the old (blue and gold) with the new (legless buffalo), and it fails. In fact, it looks an awful lot like the Nashville Predators uniforms, which is not a compliment.
The best jerseys are timeless. This new version – and the current goat head jersey – both scream late 90’s, early 2000’s. And that’s why they look so bad just years after they are introduced. Let’s hope the Sabres go back to the drawing board and avoid another jersey mistake.
