A quick run to Buffalo

Vote 0 Votes
Had to run to Buffalo for a quick visit yesterday. * Clarence doesn't enforce its restrictions on electronic sign animation and message interval timing. Its side of Transit Road looks like Las Vegas now. What a mess. * The crowd downtown is rough. Looks like almost everybody's down there for court or to visit a social service agency. Sad. * Public wi-fi downtown makes 56K modems seem blazing fast in comparison. Slooooooooow. * Good to see the city government's tolerance for Occupy Buffalo, and the tents in Niagara Square. Hope they're still there in December. * The Statler is looking better, and Delaware Avenue north of Niagara Square looks better than it has in decades. * The yoga guy mural on Elmwood is disturbing. The BRO crowd adores it, I know, but ... ugh. Why not a hottie in Lululemon? * Acropolis is closed for renovations again? * Organic 3 looks interesting. Very polished and professional. * Will the city ever do anything about the used car dealer in University Heights who parks his inventory on the Main Street sidewalk? What am I thinking ... of course the city will never do anything about it. Sidewalks should be sacrosanct. No cars for sale, no portable signs, no permanent patios or sunrooms that break up the streetwall. The city will never realize that, though.
