Presenter Patrick Kavanagh, Forest Lawn Historian and Buffalo history scholar, will discuss the role of some of the cemetery's permanent residents in the War of 1812, as well as the importance of nearby neighborhoods during that time. This event will kick off the WNY area's year-long bicentennial commemoration of the War of 1812. Music will then be provided by Raya Lee, a local music historian. This event is open to the public and will be held in Forest Lawn's historic Chapel building. However, reservations are required because seating is limited.
