BUFFALO, N.Y. - Aug. 6, 2010 - The chronic kidney disease management class, entitled "Take Control of Kidney Disease through Knowledge," will be held on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at the National Kidney Foundation offices, located at 300 Delaware Ave., Suite 101 Buffalo, N.Y., 14202. The program is for individuals who have been diagnosed in the early stages of kidney disease. The 90-minute class is taught by a registered dietitian and offers basic information about kidney function, chronic kidney disease, conditions that accompany chronic kidney disease like high blood pressure/hypertension and diabetes, slowing the progression of kidney disease, maintaining a healthy attitude, and nutrition and diet guidelines.

The cost of the class is $35 and is covered for the majority of Independent Health, Univera, and BlueCross BlueShield members. Scholarships are available.
