FibreArts Initiative 2010 Invitation to All Artists for our Fibre Vessel Challenge (Def. vessel: - a hollow 3D form that holds some/anything). "Create (and then enter) a unique 3D vessel using a piece of altered material (layered paper, plastic, tissue, syran, lace or whatever fabric you choose), stitch/glue/fuse it to a piece of batting/backing, then cut it in pieces, reassembling with 3D intentions the pieces in a non-rectangular shape, and (machine or hand) stitch (with ribbon, wire or yarn, etc) the pieces together on that backing material. The piece is then embellished with hand stitching, couched yarns, beads, buttons, wire, etc. As a last step, you take your piece and fold, bend, tuck, stretch and mold it by whatever means (stitching, gluing, etc) creating a stand alone 3D vessel. Any materials and any methods ! Use your imagination ! Have fun ! Enter art vessel at Impact Artists Gallery on July 24th between 11am-4pm.

A $5 entry fee for each entry, More than one entry per artist allowed. Later juried by fibre artist Barb Murak.
