The Bogarts are not easily defined by genres, but have a close kinship to alt. country bands like the Jayhawks, Son Volt, Whiskeytown, and the Old 97s. Their music harkens back to a simpler time, yet presses forward with purposeful jams, high lonesome harmonies, and lyrics that tackle topics from politics to heartache and retribution.
