Do yourself a favor and get over to the recently renovated Birge Mansion on Symphony Circle. That's where the tour starts... and it's also the first 'home' on the list. This is your chance to step inside the houses that make Allentown one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. The last time I had the opportunity to see the inside of the Birge it was already starting to show signs of wear and tear. Then it sank into complete decrepitude. Now The Mansion on The Circle is back and is open for viewing today.
There are already lines forming outside these Allentown homes. Stop by and enjoy yhese homes... and then it's onto the Microbrew Festival at the Central Terminal. So, treat yourself to a wine tasting at the Hamlin House (Secrets), then head on over to view the 15 unbelievable homes that are awaiting your arrival. An added bonus is the eight trolley stops along the way. The Birge Mansion is located at Symphony Circle across from Kleinhans Music Hall... if you're hungry after the tour there are many local restaurants in Allentown including The Coda situated behind the music hall.
