The Marina Market

The Marina Market

Now that we’re regulars at the Erie Basin Marina beach (is that the name?), we’ve been scoping out the nearby amenities. You never know when you’re going to need something once you get to the beach, right? Just about everyone knows about The Hatch Restaurant by now… but did you know that The Hatch has one of the best veggie burgers in town? It’s downright delicious, as many of the other menu items are. But where do you go if you’re looking for some stuff to take with you to the beach or the Commercial Slip? Say you forgot suntan lotion… or cheap sunglasses? Or even a deli sandwich and/or a slice of pizza?

Believe it or not, The Marina Market has just about everything you would need to get by… especially if you’re down at the marina with the kids. It’s not exactly a health food store, but if you are looking for a quick fix to get out of a sticky situation, then this place may surprise you. First of all, the interior of the market is about six times the size that you might think, judging it from the exterior. Yesterday we stopped in and discovered ice cream, chips, candy, Buffalo postcards, Freezies (great for kids), cookies, cereal and health bars, soda/pop, and many of the other basic market items. It was kind of like being in one of those Floridian touristy beach markets.

Visiting The Marina Market was a real eye-opener. I will definitely add this place to my list of stops when I need something while visiting the Inner Harbor and the Erie Basin Marina.
