Rhyms of Rhyson

Buffalo's DeepThinka Records recently announced it's plan for a large scale national promotional push of Buffalo born and bred hip hop artist Rhyson (Reason) Hall. The endeavor will begin with Rhyson's debut 12 single release, Still Raw an immensely popular track from DTR's latest compilation Rebel Radio II. The free of charge, internationally distributed CD received high acclaim, and Still Raw was the consensus choice of over 100 Radio DJs in the US and Canada.

The 12 single, expected to go to radio in late October, is just the tip of the iceberg for young Mr. Hall, a University at Buffalo student and local community activist. Groundwork has been laid for a publicity push to major magazines and print media, a CD release with label-mate Gr& Phee in late 2005, and a tour supporting the releases in March, dependent of course upon Rhyson's expected graduation from UB this December. "Trying to put together the release, touring, working, and going to school is almost overwhelming, I can't wait to graduate and focus my efforts 100% into music," said Hall when asked about his recent workload. "Even my mother told me I need to graduate to focus more on music."

Rhyson Hall has made quite a lot of noise both locally and regionally in the last year and half: joining the DeepThinka team early in 2005; participating in the 'Rap up the Vote' high school tour last October; performing in front of 8,000 people at UB's Springfest, and recently headlining a show and organizing a large scale street promotion effort in Toronto. DeepThinka feels that the promise and potential of this young artist is unlimited and plan to make every effort to ensure his is a familiar name in the hip hop industry for years to come.
