The 700 Block of Main Street is gaining two ground-floor retail tenants bringing more activity to what has been a sleepy block. Avalon Development has signed the first leases at its renovation project at 731 Main Street- the Swan Building.
Document Advantage, a copying, scanning, printing and design firm, is expanding and relocating from the Stokes Seeds Building next door, a previous Avalon Development renovation project. Hair-2-Go Naturally, a salon and spa, is relocating from Allen Street. Both tenants are leasing approximately 2,000 sq.ft. of space and are expected to be moving in this weekend.
The faAade of the Swan Building features new terra-cotta cladding, dark bronze aluminum windows and doors, and art glazed transoms. According to Chris Jacobs, head of Avalon Development, 731 Main may be the first new terra cotta building downtown in over 30 years. The remainder of the building is approximately 5,000 sq.ft. of loft-like space featuring high ceilings, exposed brick walls and on-site parking. The space can be leased to one tenant or subdivided. There is also a full basement with high ceilings and exposed brick.
Earlier this month, martini bar Blue Mirage opened in the 700 block taking the commercial space at The Sidway apartments and lofts development.
