How You Can Support The Mural Project

If you're a supporter of the urban mural project, then mark your calendars for Saturday, November 24th. From 6-9pm that evening the Elmwood Village Inn Bed and Breakfast AKA the Honu House (203 Saint James Place). What? You didn't know that there was a bed and breakfast on Elmwood? Hmmm... well, this is your chance to see it while supporting the mural project at the same time. A reservation for the event is only $20, and Celeste Lawson and the Arts Council have been kind enough to allow us to run the funds through the non-profit. That means that the checks written are tax-deductible. And thanks to Karen Powell, owner of the Honu House, we have a wonderful venue that will be (hopefully) filled with supporters of public art. The $20 tickets will include food and drinks... we've yet to wrangle in those sponsors. The get-together is limited to the first 50 people to respond.

Muralist Jeffrey Vincent (photo) has already taken measurements for the Positively Main Street wall. He has also come up with a plan that will allow the artists to work on the project over the winter months. The mural will be painted onto panels that will go up on the side of the building come spring. We're also looking for a large heated space (free) if anyone has any suggestions where the project members could set up shop for a spell. Thanks to all of you who have expressed an interest in supporting public art. If this project is successful it will be the first in a series that will eventually involve different art mediums. To reserve a space on the 24th (same night as the World's Largest Disco), please email me the names of the people that will be attending. Thanks in advance for your support of the mural project.
