In a town so filled with great eateries, I find myself pondering the need for a food "Critic" to separate the good from the great from the superb. There is the need from the general public to understand the difference between a restaurant that specializes in video games and family food, and one that specializes in fine dining French cuisine. How are they supposed to know any better when current publications give everyone a blanket good rating?? The problem with this town unfortunately, is that the publications that do have a food section require their columnist to write "good" reviews of the establishments they visit. If they have a negative experience, they simply do not write an article. This is a problem because it does not give an accurate barometer of the restaurant scene in town.
With this in mind I put out a call to arms. We need a Frank Bruni, Ruth ReichelOe someone to bring an edge to the Buffalo food scene. Someone to make the chefs and restaurateurs in this town fear them and raise their levels to greatness. To separate the 2stars from the 3stars. It is time to show the landscape of buffalo dining, to get a national spotlight brought to Buffalo. We can do this by having a criticOe yes? -Kevin
