Under the tutelage of Dr. Barbara Irwin, Canisius College students Kirsten Jahn (Class of 2007) and Scott Richardson (Class of 2009) began their ambitious documentary "Central Terminal: Saving a Buffalo Landmark" in December of 2006. Enduring the extreme cold inside the terminal and hundreds of hours of filming, editing, compiling information and blending it all together, Kirsten and Scott did a fantastic job of telling the complete story of the Central Terminal in just 30 minutes.
Among its recognitions has been a nomination for "best film" at the 2008 Buffalo Niagara Film Festival and several airdates on WNED and ThinkBright public television stations. We recently received word that it now has been selected for screening at the 5th Annual Trenton Film Festival May 2 - 4, 2008. The documentary, produced by the Canisius College Video Institute, will be screened on Saturday, May 3 at 4 pm at the Broad Street Bank, and will include a panel discussion moderated by Preservation New Jersey.
You can read the whole story on Canisius College's website:
We also have received word that it will be aired on WNED again on Wednesday April 30 at 10:30 PM and on Sunday May 4 at 4:30 AM and 4:30 PM. The documentary is available for purchase on our webstore: for $15.
Congratulations and many thanks to Kirsten, Scott and Barb for their hard work and dedication to telling the important story of the Central Terminal!
