I have to say that the name and concept seem completely at odds with each other. I wish this new business luck, but why handicap yourself from the start with a name that sounds like a upscale (or maybe downscale) lesbian bar. (Nothing against lesbian bars mind you.)
And I hope they get their Preservation Board approvals before they start going nuts on the outside of the building.
Anything that has a "Buddha Bar" style atmosphere is a welcome addition to the entertainment/food scene here in Buffalo. I've been a Buddha Bar fan for a couple of years now. The CD's are incredible. Nice to know there will be a place with this atmosphere.

From what I understand, the word Enoteca is being used by clubs in TO and NYC to describe this new sort of lounge/wine/food setting as well. But you are right that it is first and foremost an Italian Wine Shop.
The address is 445 Delaware. Prespa is two doors down which will make this block even more dynamic. The Mansion is right down the avenue... it's close to Midway. By the way, has anyone tried the food at Prespa recently? It's reeeeaally good. They have a new menu. Just look out for the Nostradamus (Fix Buffalo). It can catch you off guard!

The Snooty Fox Lounge will be open to all walks of life, who know how to have a good time (unlike those who are worring about elavators, rust, and where they are going to tell their husbands that they are"hanging out" for the night)! Buffalo social AND nightlife are in for a real rude awakening once these doors open...because the creativity, tenacity, and soul behind this place will ABSOLUTELY pay off! Enoteca is a wine bar that has its origin in Ancient Rome and I think Sal is right on with the concept .Wilkeson is a downer. Anyone that knows Sal its a given that it lends itself to beimg successful. The location is perfect for what he is going to opne. Upscale lounge with grat simple dishes, the amazing Delaware Mansion is directly across the street ...its perfect, just what we need . As for Prespa not really my kind of place its a young crowd and no real theme, I'm not a fan but it has its following.. Good for The Snooty Fox Lounge!!! The name itself is intriguing and at the same time very inviting. Smart name chooice and shouldn't be seen as a handicap at all. Good Luck Sal and the buzz around town is can't wait for Sal's place to open.

OK Lets stay focused on what we are commenting on here. Positive or negative feedback and/or constructive criticism. I love the enoteca concept and I think the name not being italian has its appeal. Do we really need another italian named place in our liitle city? I'm italian so I'm not bashing italian. Hanging at the Snooty Fox? Works for me and I'm sure it will work for many others. I'm not sure anyone should have to look for creative ways to get out of the house by making reference to Eliz's comments. Sometimes I wonder how many of the comments posted are just negative mindsets and people who quite frankly are just jealous. I guess thats what makes freedom of speech a beautiful thing. This thread isn't about elevators, and I didn't bring them up; I was only commenting that somone else's comment made me laugh- despite my disagreement with the writer's "pro-casino/anti-elevator" stance (a stance which is only implied, and no doubt oversimplified as well).
No biggie, though there is a broader point, which is that if we all keep our sense of humor about us, we could enjoy disagreeing with one another a whole lot more.
The great thing about our free country is that everyone has the ability to give their own opinion and open their own business. However I do not understand people that have negative things to say especially when people are trying to make positive changes to the community. These are the exact reasons our city has the problems that it does, with people leaving because of such negativity and lack of opportunities. Buffalo has such a problem with change and the same people that make these negative comments are probably the same people that are still trying to save the grain elevators!! stop a new peace bridge, stop developments that bring business into our community while not developing the waterfront, not opening new businesess in the city of Buffalo. THANK GOD there are still people in Buffalo willing to open business, help rebuild our AWESOME CITY! and think outside the box. Your going to critique a name of a business of some one who is actually trying to do something positive, maybe you need to plant a tree in deleware park or maybe you just need a hug. We need more people like this guy to beleive in the future of our community and help in the revitilization. The glass does not always have to be half empty! Congrats...and Bella is spot on with the real definition of 'enoteca'...Trattoria Aroma in Williamsville has the only authentic 'enoteca' in the area...and I'm basing this on trips I've made to Italy...the design design, vibe/music, and the wine list (all italian)...this is great for the city...and although I really like the idea...the name's just not jiving with it and could create an 'identity crisis'...just some honest feedback from one italian to another;)...best of luck...looking forward to it...ciao!

I know I will be finding creative ways of expressing my intentions of going there--"Bye hon, I'll be at the old Bellini's," or "that place two doors down from Prespa," or "you know, the new wine bar, yeah, that one." Or my favorite that seems to suit all occasions: "the place near the thing."

I had to chime in, whenever I hear grain elevator.............Those things are the ugliest things I have ever seen. Why would you want to preserve a rusty ass metal tube. I mean even if you paint the dam things,then what? It looks like a nuclear power plant.

FYI - the grain elevators are constructed of concrete. There was a grain elevator made of steel - it was dismantled decades ago. Concrete usually does not rust.
Maybe the people who hate the rusty grain elevators are looking at something else. ??
If you Google for "buffalo grain elevators" you will find quite there is quite a bit of history associated with them - maybe even learn something about your city.
How about we paint the elevators to look like stacks of poker chips for the new casino. What's in a name anyhow?
With all of Sal's inspirations and knowledge, "Snooty Fox" will be "THE" place to hang this summer. His creativity with the name lends to the sophistication he is pursuing in this endeavor. As far as the Casino, I am on the fence, I have no set opinion and thats really not my point. My point however is that they are just flat out ugly and truly plays into the wonderful theme of " Rust Belt City"!
Which not to ignore our Economic history, but by no means these days is that a positive description. Maybe however we could redevelope them residentially, put some nice windows in there, its got to be great view! Some high roller could own his own Luxury tube!
After many months of waiting for the issuance of permits and the issuance of permits for the permits ...the Snooty Fox will be opening soon . It's really going to be a great place with a wonderful inviting atmosphere . All the craftmanship was done by the owner and his dad; to me it sounds like a bit of his heart and soul and some sweat was put into this place. I look forward to stopping in and wishing Sal my best and I also look forward to finding a new place to hang
