The remark was sarcastic but this should not alter my disappointment that all you have to show for five years of work is a sketch, a locally granted award, and a plan to start a feasibility study. I am not sure why action has not been taken, why the parks are not created, why the area is not booming. I wonder why the author, who seems to be mentioned in the article, would care to discuss the obstacles to progress or the delays in proceeding with this project. To date it looks like you have an award from the WNY contingent of the upstate chapter of the New York district of the Nationally recognized American Planning Association. One more step removed and you are getting the award from the den mother. Let's see some action before convening the group hug.

Becker, I hope you were being sarcastic. That 'rendering' as you call it was the brainstorming sheet that was originally used to brainstorm ideas of what should be included in the park. Kudos to the GNPA, winning an APA award is a true honor.

Becker, the problem with Buffalo is attitudes like yours. Can't say anything kind and encouraging from the butt-cheek indented couch of yours. As it is stated in the article, this is the original brainstorming sketch, it has evolved into a AWARD WINNING planning. The last showing of the presentation this past May was to Michael Balboni, Chief NYS Homeland Security and Denise O'Donnell, NYS Commissioner Criminal Justice System Services where the accolades were flowing. At one point there was shock to see that volunteers had produced such an amazing product, better than a lot what a lot of professional produced was the quote. Yes the going has been slow and it is because of politics and only because of politics. Not government but politics! But remember it is still going and the proposal is NOT collecting dust on a shelf with a thousand other proposals. If you have any constructive things to say about the project please email them to blackrockcanalpark@yahoo.com

NAME ONE PROJECT in BUFFALO THAT HAS NOT BEEN PAINFULLY SLOW.!! Despite frustrations and setbacks, this group worked dedicately to get where they are now. BLAME the system, the politicians, who dolittle except at re-elction time. A little kudos and ppreciationwould go a long way to keeping activists/citizens motivated to keep moving Buffalo out of its' myopic state! SO..WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO LATELY ??

becker- Having worked on various projects in this community I can tell you that progress can be painfully slow. My feeling is that this is mainly due to the areas lack of political power and affluence. We are one of the forgotten places, not poor enough for huge infusions of public money and not wealthy enough to demand what is needed.
