I stopped in about a week ago when I looked around Urban Roots, finally! Very nice atmosphere. I am also pleased that people are starting to take interest in this neighborhood!

we just brought a couple of friends from out of town here for some dessert after lunch at betty's. david was very kind and explained all of his gelato flavors with passion and excitement. all of our selections were delicious and everyone enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere.

If I remember correctly from Harvey Garrett's tour of the neighborhood last year, not so long ago this storefront was known for drug dealing! Gelato Ji's, like the establishment of Urban Roots, is another exciting step forward for the West Side - more positive change. Not to say that Madagascar bourbon and strawberry vodka-flavored gelato couldn't be considered mind-altering substances ;-)
