Fun parade, fun party, it reminded me of St. Patrick's day but only fewer people and a more boring procession. I think that although there has never been a better time to be gay in America this may be the end to the fun. The attendance wasn't as good as it has been in the past and neither was the parade. I am not sure if it was the heat, the threat of rain, poor planning, or just lack of involvement, but I thought that the parade in prior years was a lot more, well, gay.

I think I may head to NYC for the Puerto Rican Day Parade next year instead of the Pride parade here. I am proud to be gay 365 days a year and don't need a parade of peers to show it.

Even more if the skate park is mixed use and built to the curb, has bike racks and is dog friendly. Throw in a comment or two about Jane Jacobs, FLW or Toronto and you've got the recipe for BRO success!

Becker, I agree, the parade was only OK, marginal at best. Did anyone notice in the program that not one gay bar was a sponsor of the event. In fact only 2 [Kitty's and Fugazi] actually bought ad space in the program which is additional revenue for the Gay Alliance. Last, Q and Cathode Ray did not even do a float or have marchers. Yet these bars cleaned up all weekend with crowds patronizing them. Shame on them for only taking from the community all year and not giving back on one Pride Weekend.

No, Scooter, it's AWESOME those girls are lesbians, more power to them and everyone else who marched in the parade.

becker: you know the preservationists and NIMBYS won't allow it!

btw I totally missed the Parade but happened upon the party at Bidwell. was something else going on? seemed to be a lot of people. I never was at one before so maybe relatively it's lower attendance but it sure seemed everyone there had fun.

I myself love those sexy girls of Roxy's and those stripteasers. Even though I have never seen about the Queen city roller girls are pretty good also.
