Sounds great, improvements along the whole stretch of the waterfront from the west side to riverside will be great and needed!

$323,550 to fund all the parks? Thats not alot to be excited about. Maybe they can start by cutting the grass. LaSalle Park and the others are disasters. Its easy, pick up the garabage (empty the cans that are overflowing with garbage) cut the grass, mix in an edger, and if you feel crazy a weed whacker.
Mr. Hoyt., er, you prefer Sam with your friends and constituents right?, anyway, "Buffalo's Other Harbor"? Sigh. The Niagara River shore is were this community of ours truly began, remember the oh so profoundly well marked "1812 Naval Yard" (Amazing isn't Sam? All that money that was spent digigng up some old foundations at the Commercial Slip, and here, at the 1812 Naval Yard we actually have a truly historic site, unmarked, unloved, poorly remembered and respected the state. Ah yes, and the Erie Canal itself is basically a convention of 'Buffalo's Other Waterfront') Without the Niagara shore there would have been no Outer Harbor. Let's spread the money and love around eh?

Wow, not a single positive comment. Granted, that is not a lot of money, but I'll take it :)
1. The "other waterfront" comment isn't meant to diss the riverfront -- just the opposite. It lets people know that there's more to waterfront development than the harbors. Hoyt has worked to "spread the money around." That's what this grant represents.
2. If Hoyt is replaced, it'll be by someone who will vote the same way on practically every issue, but will have less clout to deliver for the district and will be in Byron Brown's pocket. That's not an improvement.
