The first time I went to see Rocky Horror I got kudos all around for my spot-on Brad costume. I was confused, as I was just wearing my regular clothes.

    "SAY IT, CONSTI"...

What did happen to the Saturday, Midnight showing? I mean, come on, that's THE showing since it's release in 1975 isn't it?

Nightrider, you'd have to be over 40 to get the whole Rocky Horror thing. It was a bad B movie that turned into a cult classic 30 years ago. I guess this party is geared toward a more mature demographic, but I don't think I'll be going.

Oh. Looking at their website http://www.artscouncilbuffalo.org/ it looks as if the Saturday showing is in fact at Midnight. Phew.

I wrote this story about a three weeks ago. I double-checked just to be sure, but according to the press release I was sent, the show times I originally put up were correct. However, their website obviously says differently. Since they probably changed the times and updated their website without sending out a new press release, I edited the article to reflect the new showing times. Sorry to confuse everybody. I called the Arts Council just to be sure, and yes, the new show times are correct.

I'm a few years shy of 40 and spent many a Saturday night in high school at the Neptune theatre in Downtown Seattle watching and playing along with RHPS. In all fairness, I was a drama geek, but I think that everyone should have the full-on Rocky Horror experience at least once in their lifetime.

Sure there are people that take it too seriously who come across as socially askew as folks that are obsessed with D&D, renaissance festivals or Star Trek, but there isn't a regular showing here in Blo, so I'm sure there aren't too many of them around. Not enough to keep you from enjoying a new experience. And you really have to see Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon--too fun!

Ha, The Neptune. I saw many a film there (as well as The Egyptian, and Seven Gables?) in the early 90's, but never caught Rocky Horror there. I bet they did it justice. I did get to see it in NYC at the 8th Street playhouse on several occasions, as well in a few other cities, during the last century. Good times. From what I can actually remember.

But, when I was about 11 years old, I went to a summer day camp that put on a production of Rocky Horror as the big event for the summer. I actually played the role of Brad Majors (asshole!). So at one point, I actually had every line memorized. The counselors who organized it were all weed smoking freaksters, and they had many friends come to whoop it up proper. Needless to say, the parents watched the performance with nothing short of total shock and gaping jaws. I don't know what my mom was thinking sending me to that summer program. I guess it explains a lot. More good times in retrospect. I also remember playing a bunch of D&D at that camp as well. Must be why I'm excited about going to the Sterling Renaissance Faire next month.

If I can get a sitter next Saturday, I'm friggin' there.
