is there any way to track the metal items stolen? There must be alot of a-hole scrap dealers that take copper that they know is stolen. A police task force (ha ha) would probably put a dent in this problem. And how did this guy get such a sweet deal, sounds super fishy to me
know nothing about the owner but why does my gut tell me there's something more to this? if the owner did not know (or care) that the copper was stripped sometime during a 6-month period, why should I? is he looking for sympathy or just an insurance check?
Scrap dealers are licensed in New York, and New York has several laws on the books that limits the purchase of scrap metal, and more specifically copper, if the dealer feels that the items may be stolen. This is similar to the regulations put in place at pawn shops to prevent the fencing of stolen goods. The laws are on the books, they should either be enforced or removed. The theft of copper plumbing would be less attractive to theives if they had to verify their identity (we already have a law in place for this), the origin of the scrap (already a law in place), and if the scrap dealer was accountable for holding the goods if they were determined to be stolen.
Add to that his rants about Black women whenever Buff State is mentioned.
I seriously think it is time for Chris69's account to be suspended and his IP address blocked.

sounds to me like meyer landau pulled alittle @#$% here in Buffalo buying a building, sending a crew out and into an unlocked building to steel all the metal and other valuables and then claim theft once they are safely returned and found alibies where the police could not ascertain the exact date of the theft.

Wow, an entire post about chris69. Lets get back to the issue, a flipper (and possible thief) has taken advantage of Buffalo. When is the city going to do something about this.
I don't think we can just "pluck" Chris69's specific slurs out and make it OK for his comments to stay here. So for the record, he made a series of anti-semitic comments, including the desire to see all downstate Jews deported.

Personally, I am against suspending accounts and banning IP addresses. If you want to ignore someone then do so, but let the rest of us have the option to read him or not.

Conspiracy theories aside, this looks like a pretty attractive project. I like the plans and the neighborhood is pretty stable as far as Buffalo goes but the proximity to Bennett is probably a problem. The loss of the radiators is probably no big deal given that the heating would be changed out anyway butselling them would have been a source of revenue.
The real issue here is the fact that the guy wants $1.8M more than he paid for it. In Buffalo a set of plans and a year of ownership just isn't worth that. I am sure the development community knows that which is probably why there hasn't been anyone taking a look-see. Get real about the sale price and sell this place or develop it.
