Does someone have to be a genius to see that the primary areas of destruction in the inner city follow the:

1) Niagara Expressway

2) Kensington Expressway

3) I-190

4) Route 5 Southtowns Connector Expressway

Can there be any discussion about inner city blight without discussing access ramps downtown and encouraging traffic back on our streets and boulevards and parkways

PS, look at the above map...because there is something critical to the future of Buffalo that Buffalo Risers never discuss.

Now maybe there are still to many intact homes to integrate these two parks into a kind of urban CENTRAL PARK but we can explore other ways to integrate the two parks with a circular lane restricted for bikers and joggers that connects both parks much like Delaware and South Park have circular roadways.

THIS AREA IS RIPE FOR URBAN REDEVELOPMENT AND RESIDENTIAL INFILL.

Lastly, I urge everyone to contact the Olmsted Park Conservancy to request that every Olmsted Park have a Farmers Market....and rebuild their Calvert Veaux Shelters in the future to house such farmers markets. If that happens then there is the possibility that in a very real sense urban living may just become more pleasant than sububan for Buffalonians thanks to our Olmsted Parks and urban density.

chris69 you should know that Best to Masten Park crossing over the City Honors site which was also a small Olmsted space down North to Symphony circle was considered in Olmsted's designs as his connection of Humboldt Park to the water. All Olmsted parks were integrated to both downtown (via Ellicott's radials) and the water and to each other. These are the bones of a superb and underutilized city infrastructure.

Possibly any the people that are going on this tour, that are not already involved in any of the organizations in East Buffalo, should get involved. Such organization as Buffalo ReUSE, Central Terminal, etc.. etc...
