This is FANTASTIC NEWS!!! I was actually thinking of setting up a unisex clothing store downtown (have been dreaming for a few years now). Thanks for this info, it definitely got me thinking some more and looking into it alittle bit more. If people would be interested in a store that sold Funky clothing for men and women (Think Toronto and NYC styles) then let me know. I would luv to bring the big city styles to B-lo.

I am not surprised, this is one of the few places that downtown workers can shop on their lunch hour without getting in their cars. I hope for more shopping destinations along Main Street and I hope that the demand for downtown retail continues once the novelty wears off. Let's all keep our fingers crossed and keep shopping at these stores whenever possible, we owe a lot to these entrepreneurs who are taking a major risk by opening their businesses away from the usual shopping districts. The next step to bringing more stores and restaurants downtown is really up to the people who work downtown, we have to frequent these places to ensure that they stick around for awhile.

does anyone know if there is a higher end hair stylist shop near this store? things like that usually go well together, giving customers the ability to get a new hairdo and wardrobe at the same time...might be something to look into....

I think there's a big plus in keeping it small and dense with select/exclusive mechandise ...don't go too big too fast.

I would like to see a shop like the one your thinking of open downtown. Also years ago the was a very high end vintage clothing shop on Allen (it was called Marikesh I think) that I would like to see return. I bought old jeans and leather flight jackets there.

I have been several times...very nice clothes...and reasonably priced...to answer a previous question, jeans are $70, which compared to most "designer" brands is not bad. Glad to hear she is doing so well!

I hope business remains brisk because the Buffalo market seems to run very hot and cold. One day your the be all end all and then the next the markets moved on to the next "hot" spot.

this is great news. I hope more retail comes downtown and thrives. Its easy to make a wish list of what you would like to see start up when it isn't your money involved but I would love to see an EMS like store move into the city. i would like to think Buffalo could support a sport/outdoors sort of store but who knows.....

Actually, Icecreamsub.... Rumor is that the City and NYS are working hard on bringing a sports/outdoors retailer to the waterfront. Man, that would be exciting!.....

    Congratulations, Jenny!

GDC - I would be interested in funkier clothing options a la NYC and Toronto. I think a lot of people would be (tho maybe they'd be looking on Elmwood?) If you go for it, advertize it on the UB Stampede or Generations.

I was thinking of carrying the looks one might find at say Le Chateu, French Connections, H&M and so forth. Wear that you can put on for work or for daily wear and it would be a place for both men and women (teen-30ish).
