Oh no...here we go again....try to get to 9:30 Mass at the Newman Center on Elmwood...better yet...try to get back home downtown. It never ceases to amaze me...we live in the city, pay taxes and on several good weather weekends, we're trapped by races. And yes, I have heard all the arguements that the races bring thousands into the city but guess what...do you really think that they are site seeing; spending money; adding to our quaality of life? I don't think so. Just think...what else could all the policemen that are closing the streets be doing? Sorry....I ususally tout all the positives about our city but this is just one inconvinience too many. Why not plan the races for Amherst or Clarence instead of the Elmwood Village and Downtown?

IMADIVA...judging by your rationale, we should not have Allentown, St. Pat's, Thursday at the Square, Taste of Buffalo, Elmwood Arts Fest and (insert 100 other festivals here). Don't you think a lot of these runners stay in hotels, dine in our restaurants, shop in our stores???? Or do you think they sleep in their cars, wake up, run the race, then drive 10 hours home? And the Newman Center - how many weekends a year are you denied entrace to go worship because the street is blocked off??? IMADIVA should be changed to IMANIMBY.
